CPLOL funding kickstarts ResNetSLT project

A huge thank you to CPLOL for the award of 1000 Euros to support #ResNetSLT.

Dr Hazel Roddam recently delivered a progress update about the project at the CPLOL Commission meeting in Prague.

#ResNetSLT will use this funding to begin to post some helpful resources, and to start to really build our virtual community – helping us all to get in touch with each other more easily.

Thank you to Katherine Broomfield ( @KathBroomfield ) for producing the latest ResNetSLT blog post. As a speech and language therapist I accessed networks that were directly related to my clinical area. I joined special interest groups/clinical excellence networks and attended meetings to access shared learning and information which informed my clinical practice. With regards to broader networks, I couldn't really understand how people outside my organisation or specialism would be able to help me within my role as a speech and language therapist. Tweetchat: 'That doesn't translate’ - the role of evidence-based practice in disempowering speech pathologists in acute aphasia management

Our seventh Tweetchat 'That doesn't translate’: the role of evidence-based practice in disempowering speech pathologists in acute aphasia management’ took place on Wednesday 27th July. We were delighted by the reach of the chat, hosted by Dr Hazel Roddam , with 37 participants sending 251 tweets that were delivered to 126,391 linked accounts. Thank you to everyone who contributed and followed the chat. Participants included SLTs from across the UK and in Australia as well as other AHPs. We know that people from other EU countries were also watching the conversation. We were particularly delighted that a number of people joined the Tweetchat for the first time – hope you enjoyed it! NEW ResNetSLT Action Group

In August 2017 we published an invitation for volunteers to join us to form a new ResNetSLT Action Group. We were delighted with the response and now look forward to a very active year ahead in 2018 - the new team will help us to refresh the way we can provide relevant research resources, activities and advice. We will restart our monthly Twitter discussion forum (book your diary now for last Wednesday of every month 7.30pm – 8.30pm UK time). We'll post a regular summary of our Twitter chats here on the blogsite, so everyone can keep updated even if you're not (yet!) on Twitter. And in addition we have planned to have monthly features and news items on our blogsite (second Wednesday of the month).
